As its name suggests, it is presumably a bag for a weekend getaway. Surely I’ll be tucking this one into the back of my Miata and it checks yet another box for fitting most airline cabin’s restrictions.
A cushioned shoulder pad, a luggage tally comes as standard on the Weekender and all Billingham products come supplied with one dust bag considering they tend to be quite the lint magnet. Naturally I went for a black/tan colour combination to match my Hadley Small.

The Weekender weighs about one kilogram and when it’s filled, I hope you find an airport trolley because heft will be felt real fast. Putting stuff in is easy thanks to its flexible fabric body and a wide opening. If anything, the shoulder sling gets in the way but it is detachable. A removable base pad maintains the bottom structure of the Billingham Weekender but it doesn’t stand upright when nothing is in the bag.

An Overnighter looks better but is smaller than a duffel I already own thus the Weekender. On the inside, there is a clip loop on one side and a net pocket on the other which makes smaller items easier to find. This duffle isn’t as bulky as pictures may suggest and is carefully sized to go well with both men and women.
Long zip pullers provide pleasing grip and smooth action to either end of the bag. Stitch work and material used are impressive but some brass feet to slightly lift the bag off the ground would make a good addition.
With the crisis we are all currently facing, I’m surprised by how Billingham is still responsive to emails as I wanted to know more about their products. Having my bag delivered to my doorstep in less than a week further surpasses expectations. To top things off, Billingham bags come with a 5 years warranty.
