I have gotten into a creative rut in months of lately, simply being uninspired or losing steam from chasing portfolio photographs. That changed a tad bit from being spontaneously tasked to shoot for a marriage registry which made me both a witness and a photographer.
That event stirred something and got me curious in photographing subjects that I do not usually point my camera at, human subjects. It was about time for Jing and I to finally realise that ultimate film road trip we have always talked about so we made it happen.

It was easier than imagined as with most things in life. Well, that is helped by the fact that I am good friends with the models on the trip. That being said, it is always good to set a relaxed mood for a shoot like this where everyone is having fun along the way. Let who you are shooting take care of the playlist then having food and drinks along the way is something that can never go wrong.
I favour places that are less popular so instead of Brighton Bathing Boxes, I would opt for Campbells Cove Beach. When shooting at our own pace with no crowd peer through, there’s space for us to express more freely.

Yes, Phillip Island is very much a tourist destination but going on a weekday will help. We also went to the least unexpected place to get good results on a hike at Phillip Island Nature Park. It was good fun and when the scans came back days later, I was very pleased with the outcome and so were they.
